Ajani was born Ajoke, one of the three daughters born to the Njuko family. She was revered even as a baby for she bore an unparalleled beauty and pair of bright golden irises, which many in her community to be a sign of a divine gift. In fact, her people often spoke of good fortune that seemed to follow her. As she grew up and especially during her adolescence she felt more and more than she’d become the commodity of her people, a local attraction. Ajoke’s sisters loved her dearly, but in seeing the toll her gift was taking, urged her to seek out a new life away from Nigeria. Their parents forbade the idea, but Ajoke eventually found passage to America and created a new life there. Ajoke transitioned to Ajani, and in the choosing of that name became himself for the first time.

Ajani is an imaginative and compassionate person, though sometimes frustrated by people who don’t share similar motivations or conversational savvy. He is a talented writer and loves writing fantasy stories based on his travels. He is kind and affectionate with those he trusts and, in fact, those with whom he makes contact often note a bout of good luck in their endeavors and a warn lifting of the spirit for a time. Ajani is distinctly aware of the demon threat on Earth as he is a confidant of Shrike and is always willing to aid him and others who rise to fight it.
