Bolero is a rather eccentric creature, especially for a Giant. While still boastful of his enormities, he differs from others of his kind in that he is not known for any sort of mysterious or brutal nature but rather one of boisterousness, lust, and comical candor. He professes no real modesty nor is he coy about the pursuit of his pleasures. In fact, he often touts that Giant were gifted with such long lives for that very purpose. Thought he has no real love of combat, he is a skilled fighter and admires others with considerable strength and power. Although not overly fond of Mythrans, especially those with less-than-savory intensions, he admits to "wanting to know what they taste like”.

When Giants and other creatures within the Overneath were set loose after its shattering, Bolero roamed Nava in search of kindred spirits (and perhaps strong spirits of a boozy nature, which he calls “spicy human water”). He encountered a part of Tatran heroes in his travels and took a particular liking to the one called Astrid, or “Tiny Pink Space Girl”. Though a wholly peculiar pairing, the two became fast friends and Bolero agreed to help her on her mission.
