Kalisz is one of the most mystifying creatures ever mentioned in Nava’s histories and mythologies. He appears in various myths and legends by countless names as an avatar of death, other stranger stories title him Deathless or Vindicator. But mostly Kalisz remains inexplicable by nature of the powers described in these accounts which often note that he has never actually been seen in the living world. One such account that surfaced, said to be authored by Incarnate Honor Kavod during his pilgrimage on Nava, speaks thus:

“…the creature is beautiful and frightening, though one may question that I have gathered such for it seems he prefer not be found at all; certainly not by the soul who seeks him out to whom he remains imperceptible, even to evade the senses like a ghost. Then by happenstance it must be that he came upon me when death seemed imminent and I might add, inglorious, for I had passed well beyond the sight of my Sovereign and the Incarnates. He touched me but once, placing a warm finger upon my chest, and offered what I did not expect: That I die there, and so apart from the regrets of my long life, or return to my vocations. If not for such a purpose, would he have then claimed my soul for all time?”
