Renato Roque is the founder and president of Roque Nobre, a flourishing high-end spatial design studio in Lisbon, Portugal that has taken on some of the most prestigious building projects in the world. He enjoys a life of splendor and simplicity with his husband Yafeu to whom he has been married for more than 13 years; over time they have become local celebrities owing to their generosity in taking part in a huge number of community development initiatives. The pair is also often noted for their exquisite fashion sense and, more curiously, for their adoption of a large white, two-tailed jaguar named Aava. Lisbon locals don’t truly know Aava’s origins as Renato keeps the story safely buried.

Long before Renato became the thriving industry mogul he is now, before Roque Nobre got its name, he ran the company as an artisanal trade cooperative which largely ran out of various parts of South America like Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Brazil. Over several years, rumors and debate of the company’s ethics came into question and Renato eventually uncovered the activities and whereabouts of an illicit operation which hunted and trafficked rare wildlife. Upon investigating these scandalous whispers, stowing away on a fishing trawler headed up the eastern South American coast, he discovered a white jaguar of unusual size with two tails bound and caged. She was scheduled to be delivered to an anonymous customer in Belize and slaughtered. Renato swiftly became her rescuer. To this day, no one knows what happened to the vessel’s other passengers and Renato has not since spoken of the incident.
