Sefath grew up in Jaipur, India alongside his best friend Arjun Maheswari. Both began training in classical Indian dance from a young age and in time were invited to the Rajnritya Kendra, the most prestigious dance academy in India (and certainly renowned throughout the world) in the heart of Jaipur's Gulabi Shahar. There Sefath studied the folk dance traditions of Rajasthan, the classical forms of Kathak under the Jaipur Gharana, and the broader vocabulary of Indian classical movement. He was introduced to classical and contemporary ballet as part of the academy’s international curriculum and joining the performances of several small theater and dance companies over the course of a few years. He was eventually invited to the Grand Ballet de France where Arjun had arrived some years prior. They reunited in Paris for their first performance of La Bayadère.
WEAPON OF CHOICE:
NAIL BAT
A length of rotted timber, driven through with iron nails beyond reason or craft. The blood that coats it no longer belongs to any single victim. Its maker fashioned it not as a weapon, but as a crude declaration that no death wrought was ever meant to be clean or merciful.
