Amir Tatakera, often referred to as Mirafra, is one of the oldest of Nava’s (Earth’s) demigods and presides over nourishing light and the preservation of sacred life. Some legends say that he began as a desert lark whose song was so moving that Radiance gifted him a beautiful and immortal human form so that he might exert his influence and virtue upon humankind and protect the delicate balance of nature. Though no one knows for certain where he disappears to, he enters periods of slumber, sometimes for decades, until he is called upon again by the Incarnates of Radiance or his retainers.

Amir bested Cirogaan the Golden in an age long past during a conflict with the Mythrans of Nava, after which the two became mortal enemies. Cirogaan famously cursed Tatakera in his vow: “I warn that will never be rid of me”. He has been haunted by the creature ever since. In present day, Amir was awoken by the prayers of Saa’ir Ayad, another victim of Cirogaan’s craft, who called the demigod to unleash his “true power”.
Amir is fiercely loyal to those he cherishes and does not take kindly to those that would harm or torment them. He is a man of few words, but possesses wisdom unfathomable to most humans. In this way, he can be fairly aloof to what he considers “mortal concerns” and is generally uninterested in small talk. He has a strong communion with nature and created the Garden of the Lark in Provence, France as as secret sanctuary and to honor his lover, Milo McKinney, who told Amir he’d always dreamed of seeing the lavender fields there.

Milo may have been an unlikely match for a demigod, but Amir was wholly devoted to him.
